A Family's Summer BoatTrip

Instead of our usual summer holiday abroad, this year we experienced something slightly different. My grandpa has always wanted to go on a NarrowBoat and see what the experience would be like. Its always been on his bucket list so this year we've finally gotten around to doing it. Now living on a boat for a week was not easy, and when i say narrow- it really was narrow. You had to make do with the space that you had and with 6 people living on a boat, including a dog was quite a challenge. However we managed! We got to visit two villages, a place called Lymm which is in Warrington and another village called Stockton Heath, which is also near Warrington. I wish we could have got the chance to explore the villages more, however we didn't have a lot of time as we had to get back on the boat etc. We had a lovely bar meal at the local pubs in both villages, one night i had Steak and Ale pie. Delicious. Unfortunately i had forgotten to take my camera out, and show you guys just how good the pie was. Night times were my favourite. Gathered around the table playing cards, laughing away and making the plans for what we were going to be doing the next day.

For breakfast my mam made us a good old English breakfast, and one day she made us pancakes topped of with bacon on top! We all had a lovely time, forgetting about the busyness that we have going on in the normal world. It was lovely, relaxing and peaceful sitting down on the front deck watching the world go by. When we came back home on Friday morning, it was hard to get back into reality again and knowing that we all had to go back to work! However i would defiantly recommend this for older people, not young children as you would be really cautious incase they fell in the water etc. I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures i snapped while i was there, and on a plus side it was also kinda fun to experience a different way of travelling! Thats one thing ticked of my bucket list!
